RCMP Activity in the Neighbourhood

Dear parents/guardians of Brookwood School,

We just wanted to inform our parents and guardians regarding RCMP activity near our school just before the lunch hour.

There was no danger to our students but RCMP had directed our school into a shelter-in-place scenario. A shelter-in-place means there is no one allowed in or out of the building. Thankfully, the RCMP resolved the situation and lifted the shelter-in-place after approximately 30 minutes.

At Parkland School Division, the safety and well-being of all our students is of the utmost priority.  

We'd like to extend a thank you to the local RCMP detachment for their assistance on this matter.
