Welcome Back to School!

Dear Families,
We are so excited to welcome you back to a brand-new school year! The halls have been far too quiet, and we’ve truly missed the energy, laughter, and joy your children bring to our school every day. Our staff has been hard at work preparing classrooms, and making sure everything is ready for a wonderful year of learning and growth.
Some important details you need to know as we prepare for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. School supply lists can be found on the Brookwood School website. Beginning at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27, you will be able to log in to your Parent Portal on PowerSchool to see your student’s classroom assignment.
We can’t wait to see all of our students at Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, August 28th from 4:30–6:00 PM. It’s a great opportunity to connect with teachers, visit classrooms, drop off school supplies, and get a feel for the year ahead. We hope to see you there!

Lastly, we are over the moon to Introduce Our New School Mascot: The Wolf Pup!
Growing Together • Stronger as One • Full of Potential
We’re thrilled to introduce our new school logo and mascot: the Brookwood Wolf Pups!
You might be wondering—why a wolf pup? This choice is more than just cute and creative. The wolf pup is a powerful symbol that reflects the spirit of our school community. Here’s why we believe it’s the perfect fit:
- Belonging: Wolf pups are never alone. They are part of a strong, supportive pack that nurtures and protects them—just like our learning community.
- Growth: Though they start small, wolf pups are full of potential. With guidance and care, they grow into confident, capable members of their group. Every student here is growing in their own time and their own way.
- Learning: Wolf pups learn by listening, watching, and practicing alongside their pack. At our school, students grow through encouragement, teamwork, and curiosity.
- Courage: What makes wolf pups brave isn’t how big they are—it’s knowing they’re supported. In the same way, our students grow in confidence through connection and care.
- Purpose: Every wolf in the pack has a role to play. Likewise, every student at our school brings something unique and valuable to the learning community.
The wolf pup reminds us of who we are and who we’re becoming—a kind, courageous, and connected school community where everyone belongs and everyone can grow. As all pups grow, we will grow into the Wolfpack at Woodhaven Middle School for Grade 5!
We’re excited to move forward with our new mascot as a symbol of the strength, growth, and heart we see in our students every day. Let’s hear it for the Wolf Pups!
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2nd, and we’re counting down the days until we can welcome everyone back with big smiles and open arms. Let’s make this year one to remember!
Warmly,
Principal Christine Ross
